| In February of 1949 a group of Georgia Tech Phi Taus (Alpha Rho Chapter) and Athens area Phi Tau alumni gathered to plan the organization of a Phi Kappa Tau colony at the University of Georgia. By the fall of 1949, the colony was established and on March 10, 1950 a 30 man chapter was established. | |

Over the years Phi Tau has occupied three different houses. This was our first house and it is located on Hill St. just off N. Milledge Ave. |
| This was our second house and it is located on Wilcox and Cloverhurst Terrace (behind the ZTA house). Phi Taus resided here from the late 50's through early 1967. | ![]() |

This is our present house which we have occupied since 1967. The house served as a private residence until the fifties, when it was occupied by a sorority and then a church. |
